Little Black Dresses at the Drawing Hope Masquerade Gala

Every woman has her classic “Little Black Dress”, something she always looks great in and knows will be the perfect look for any impromptu occasion. But sometimes, there’s an event that requires you to take your LBD up a notch. A touch of sparkle, a flair of iridescent color, maybe even a tutu skirt.

The Drawing Hope Masquerade Gala was definitely an event to wear that enhanced LBD, and these four women did just that. Modern Family’s Ariel Winter, Days of Our Lives star, Arianne Zucker, actress Laura Linda Bradley, and musical performer, Mary Birdsong, caught up with Red Carpet Tips reporter, Sonia Young, and shared their top fashion and style tips.

Ariel Winter

Ariel Winter‘s “crazy fun” look is perfect for a teenage TV star. She chose a black tulle dress with gold shimmer and wore her hair in soft waves, adding long gold earrings to complement the dress. Her tip for dressing up: always carry powder and double-stick tape in your purse, be careful not to over accessorize and if your event isn’t a Masquerade Gala, don’t wear too dark of eyeshadow.

Arianne Zucker

Arianne Zucker‘s little black dress featured a green and gold shimmery silhouette. Arianne says she loves wearing neutrals and completing her outfit with great accessories. Her ensemble at the Drawing Hope Gala was topped off with a beautiful Charlie Lapson clutch. Arianne says Charlie Lapson bags and clutches are often used in the soap industry and that her light snakeskin neutral clutch goes with everything.

Laura Linda Bradley

Actress, Laura Linda Bradley, told our Red Carpet Tips reporter that she did a lot of shopping for the Drawing Hope Masquerade Gala. She ended up going with a classic little black dress she bought in London. A mix of satin and lace was a beautiful look for Laura at the Gala. Her simple ensemble included a bright lip and her shiny blonde locks, which she says is due to great genetics and lots of conditioner.

Mary Birdsong

The Drawing Hope Masquerade Gala featured several musical performances, including Mary Birdsong‘s rendition of “Sister,” from The Color Purple. Mary’s show stopping performance matched her great Betsy Johnson dress and bright red lips. Mary loves retro style, and sticks with dresses that have a pre-1960s look. The secret to those perfect lips is MAC lipstick. Check out our featured video clip for Mary’s lipstick shade challenge.
