Paradise, who is a writer, producer and actress for Exes & Ohs and has also produced and starred in the short film The Ten Rules: The Lesbian Survival Guide, emphasized the importance of the GLAAD Media Awards. “Writers and producers of film and television are under no mandate or obligation to include LGBT people in their stories,” she told RCT reporter, Carly Steel. “This represents a really great night and recognition for people who actually do that.”
Besides supporting the cause, as well as the nomination of Exes & Ohs, the two ladies used the opportunity to show off their favorite red carpet outfits. Paradise was dressed in a simple grey high-waist pencil skirt paired with a white blouse and Featherstone was wearing an elegant black dress by DSquared2, which is part of the designers’ Fall/Winter 2012 collection.
Featherstone, who wrote for and starred in several TV shows and was a model in the 80′s, left her hairstyle for the evening to her stylist, but she always does her own makeup. She told RCT that she realized as you get older “less is more”, consequently, she doesn’t use heavy eye makeup any more. The Canadian actress eats a lot of vitamins and minerals, such as magnesium and vitamin B12 and D, which make her skin glow. “I really take care of myself and I’m really careful about what I put into my body,” she says. Her favorite beauty product is Dr. Brandt moisturizer and she also loves E3 Live products.
